WHY YOU NEED TO BE AT THE 2010 EVENT:

On August 8 & 9, 2009, the Mile High Marketplace welcomed ten renowned & award-winning blues artists from around the globe for two amazing days in the Event Center Tent in the heart of the Marketplace. Among the performers were the legendary Joe Bonamassa, Bernard Allison (son of blues icon Luther Allison), singer-songwriter Curtis Salgado (the inspiration for John Belushi's Blues Brothers character), acclaimed guitar virtuoso Jimmy Thackery, and one of the hottest rising stars of the blues, the magical Eden Brent, winner of the Blues Music Awards 2009 Acoustic Album of the Year and 2009 Acoustic Artist of the Year. Also on the line-up were renowned national artists such as the legendary Grammy Award-winning John Hammond, Memphis singer-songwriter Reba Russell, Ryan McGarvey (who performed a special tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughn), Rick Estrin & the Night Cats, and local favorite Delta Sonics.

Cool Shade for Hot Music

Probably the most welcome surprise of the weekend for blues fans was the 25,000 square foot event tent. The newest addition of the Mile High Marketplace was well received by all...fans had lots of seating options to get comfy and listen to world-class blues in a shady spot with a nice cool breeze from the huge fans above. Doesn't get any better than this!

Future of the Blues

Alongside the triumphant main stage was the Blues 101 stage—where performers taught history lessons, gave tutorials on the blues slide guitar and harmonica, and student artists performed. All in all, there was something for every last one of the 1,500 daily fans from youth to blues fanatic.
